Education and background

In the world of post-secondary education, Meghan continues to develop her skill set as a hybrid between course-design, pedagogical science and content expertise. Meghan received a PhD in Chemical Engineering from McGill University in 2017. She is currently a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry at Vanier College where she leads courses using approaches such as Problem-Based Learning, Flipped Classroom, Collaborative Learning, Cooperative Learning and Knowledge Community Inquiry. She also works at McGill University as Pedagogical Support doing several projects in the Faculty of Engineering such as course design and pedagogical tool development. Meghan has worked at SALTISE since 2016 in various roles such as a Research Assistant, Project Manager and Workshop Leader. Highlights of her work with SALTISE include her contribution to helping manage the Entente Canada-Quebec (ECQ) grant and co-development of the S4 Chemistry Group, a community of instructors from multiple University and CEGEP institutions who hold biweekly meetings in which they share course materials, identify course areas lacking support or tricky learning content and subsequently, design and build pedagogical tools together.
