IL-03: Curriculum Design for Environmental and Sustainability Education: Lessons Learned and Recommendations
Since 2022, McGill University’s Sustainability Education Fellows (SEF) program has created an interdisciplinary training environment for faculty and students to integrate sustainability into course design. A recent study examined the impacts of the program on the design and teaching practices of participating faculty and graduate students. This interactive session will share highlights from the study’s findings, including program elements that were most influential in shifting participants’ course design and pedagogical practices. Those who attend this session will leave with practical takeaways for incorporating sustainability into their own courses, plus ideas for taking a whole-of-institution approach to environmental and sustainability education.
