DALC: AL Design Club

September 17 @ 14:30 - 16:00

As instructors who believe in the Active Learning approach, we encourage students to work in a social atmosphere that promotes peer cooperation. Center to this approach is the design of activities that focus on collaboration. Ironically, while we expect our students to work together, instructors often create Active Learning activities alone. The Active Learning Design Club is a joint initiative between the DALC and Saltise/S4 to help instructors experienced in Active Learning refine existing activities or explore new approaches to Active Learning with the support of their peers. The Design Club will feature the tried and tested resources on the SALTISE website (https://www.saltise.ca/resources/strategies/). The goal of the workshops is to provide a dedicated space for instructors to work on Active Learning activities with hands-on support from the DALC fellows and Saltise/4. So, if you have an activity (or two or three…) you would like to improve and you want a supportive place to get constructive feedback and support, bring it to the Design Club and we’ll help you make it better!
