DALC | Book Club Meeting
March 27 @ 11:30 - 12:45
Room: 8B.13 – up at New School.
We another great meeting last week and I wanted to remind/update everyone on this list that our next Book Club Meeting will be Wednesday March 27th from 11:30am-12:45pm in 8B.13 – up at New School. Hope you can join us.
Continuing conversations from last semester, this Book Club will continue exploring the relationship between emotions and power in the classroom in higher education through a variety of readings. Don’t be shy to join us if you are new. We are hoping to meet 4-5 times this semester and there is no pressure to read. Each meeting will consist of a facilitated discussion started by a quick presentation of some key ideas and some guided questions that encourage participants to connect with each other across our disciplines on the role of emotions and power in the classroom.
For our next discussion, we are going to read the Part 2 of George Lakey’s Facilitating Group Learning: Strategies for Success with Adult Learners on“Diversity, Difference, and Emotions in Group Learning.”
If you would like to join and you have missed earlier sessions, you can just jump in. We have a helpful glossary in case anyone uses a concept discussed in previous sessions. Contact me.
