2-Stage Assessments: Teach while you Test!

This webinar took place on Nov 11, 2020

Imagine a test in which your students not only demonstrate what they have learned but also emerge with a deeper understanding of the concepts, eager to continue learning! The 2-stage assessment is an approach that engages students in learning while they write quizzes, tests, and even final exams. This webinar will take the form of a panel discussion that explains the basics of the technique and, importantly, it will provide an opportunity to answer your questions about how to use 2-stage assessments effectively at the college and university levels; as well as the important questions regarding whether and how it has been used for high-stakes exams. We have gathered an impressive panel of colleagues from 4 institutions across the country, including Carleton University, University of British Columbia (UBC), McGill University, and John Abbott College, who have substantial experience implementing this approach, and have continued to do so as their classes moved online.
