About

Since 2010, Writing in the Disciplines (WID) at Dawson College has been offering support for curricular and pedagogical innovations in writing, critical thinking and active learning. From its inception until 2022, ninety teachers participated in the Faculty Writing Fellows; eleven Department and Program Projects were completed; and hundreds of teachers have participated in the WID Spring Institute and WID workshops. Since 2022, WID continues to offer workshops and support to any individuals, departments, or programs looking for solutions to sharpen students’ critical thinking skills through innovative writing assignments and course design.

Department & Program Projects

2010-22

From 2010-2022, Writing in the Disciplines at Dawson supported one or two department and program-based projects focused on writing, critical thinking and active learning in the disciplines. Building on the college-wide presence of WID Writing Fellows and our regular workshops, these projects continue to provide WID support for innovations in instructional and curricular design.
