Active Learning Activities

Active learning activities are tailored to specific learning outcomes and content. They incorporate one or more of the evidence-based strategies. Structured to expose their theoretical underpinnings, the activities can be used by practitioners and researchers alike.

Psychology Social sciences

Students investigate their self-concept, compare it to a classmate, assess differences between self- and social perception.

Health science Interdisciplinary

In teams, students interact, share information on their profession, and create cases where each discipline is needed

Biology Health science STEM

In this single-class activity, students use cards to match cells with their organelles and functions.

General Languages and Literature

This activity has students challenge the literal meaning of a text (ie. the supernatural explanation for a murder).

Biology STEM

This is an application-based activity that draws upon lesson material students have seen in previous classes.
