Webinars and talks Early Career Teacher Sessions
Between grading, new course planning, and mandatory meetings, faculty often feel too overwhelmed to even begin worrying about how their classrooms are meeting the needs of racialized and Indigenous students. This workshop will allow teachers to explore simple ways they might first create safety and community within their classrooms to then integrate material that explores issues of social equity surrounding hot button topics like anti-racism and decolonization. We will explore a website co-created by faculty, students, and community members that aims to address the challenges and possibilities of bringing EDI + B into our classrooms. Concrete resources will be provided.
Objective: Explore and integrate pedagogical materials on social equity issues (e.g., anti-racism, decolonization, etc.) (moderated by Heritage College)
All sessions are on MS Teams except the last one (Nature Pedagogy).
Sessions are open to EVERYONE, whether you are a new/early-career teacher or simply interested in the session topic
