Educational Developers: From a little-known Profession to Active Colleagues Fostering Teaching Growth and Advancing Institutional Change

This symposium is organized to briefly reflect on the past—looking at how the educational development role has broadened from teaching consultations to include instructional design, educational technology, curriculum development, policy development, and more. It will delve into the purpose(s) of the role, spotlighting an array of work from small initiatives to innovative projects, and examine the path ahead, sparking generative discussion, cross-institutional collaboration, and professional growth.
